Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold relief, reading the royal title and name of the issuing khan. The legend proclaims the ruler's epithet 'al-Adil' (the Righteous) and the name Tochtamysh Khan, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan. The script is rendered in a characteristic late Golden Horde epigraphic style with thickened strokes. A partial linear border frames the inscription, though it is partially off-flan due to the irregular hammered planchet.
