Reverse description Central field bears the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith) in three lines of Arabic script within a plain rectangular cartouche, with additional marginal text completing the shahada formula. Dot ornaments punctuate the corners of the cartouche. The hammered flan displays the typical irregular outline of Golden Horde dirhams, with slightly uneven strike pressure resulting in variable depth of relief across the inscription.
