Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script, reading the royal titulature of Khan Toqtamish. The inscription is arranged in horizontal lines across the flan, invoking the sultan's name and a prayer for the prolongation of his reign. The die is struck on an irregular, roughly circular flan typical of hammered Golden Horde coinage, with flat, granular fields and moderately raised lettering. No decorative border is present, and the legends extend close to the coin's edge.
