Obverse description Central field occupied by a two-line Arabic legend in naskh script reading 'al-Sultan al-Adil / Shadi Beg Khan' (the Just Sultan / Shadi Beg Khan), asserting the khan's royal and judicial authority. The lettering is boldly struck in high relief against a plain, unadorned field, characteristic of late Golden Horde coinage. The flan is irregularly shaped and slightly uneven, as typical of hammered silver dirhams of this period. No border or decorative framing is present, the inscription filling the full face of the coin.
