| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in the characteristic Naskh script style employed on Golden Horde coinage of the mid-14th century. The inscription, distributed across three or four lines, carries the royal titulature of Khan Murid, proclaiming him the Just Sultan and invoking a prayer for the longevity of his reign. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, as is typical of hammered Silver Dangs of this period. No decorative border or ornamental frame is present, the inscription filling the die area completely. |
