| Obverse description | Central field bearing a three-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script reading 'al-Sultan al-Adil / Jalal al-Dunya wa al-Din / Mahmud Jani Bek Khan', conferring upon the ruler the honorific laqab 'Glory of the World and the Faith'. The script is deeply struck in raised relief against a plain, slightly granular field. The flan is irregular and of typical hammered fabric, with weak strike areas visible toward the periphery. No decorative border is present, consistent with standard Golden Horde dirham production of the mid-14th century. |
