| Obverse description | Central field entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in naskh script, reading the royal titulature of the issuing khan. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers across the flan and translates as 'Sultan the Just Mohammed Berdi Beg Khan.' The field is enclosed within a raised linear inner border, itself surrounded by a prominent outer beaded border that follows the irregular contour of the hammered flan. A small ornamental device or star appears above the central legend. The die-work is typical of mid-14th century Golden Horde coinage, with bold, deeply struck script and minimal decorative elements beyond the border treatment. |
