Reverse description Central field bears three lines of Arabic Kufic script containing a Quranic verse (Surah Al-Ikhlas, 112:1-3) or related religious formula. A circular marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script encircles the central text, typically recording the mint name and date. The design is entirely epigraphic, following the purely inscriptional standard introduced by the Umayyad monetary reform of 77 AH (696-697 CE), with no decorative borders beyond the text bands.
