Obverse description Central field bearing three lines of Arabic Kufic inscription enclosed within a circular marginal legend. The design is framed externally by three concentric circles, the interspaces of which are punctuated by five pairs of annulets arranged at regular intervals. The inscriptions follow the standard reformed Umayyad epigraphic dirham format, with no figural imagery. The mint name al-Samiya and the AH date appear in the central field text.
