Obverse description Central field occupied by a stylized tamgha (dynastic emblem) rendered in bold relief, consisting of a geometric form with a looped upper element and a rectangular lower body, characteristic of Golden Horde anonymous issues of the Bulghar mint. The tamgha is surrounded by a prominent double border of large pellets arranged in a circular pattern, filling the entire periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The field around the tamgha is plain and slightly granular in texture, consistent with hammered silver coinage of the period. No inscriptions are present on this face, the tamgha serving as the sole identifying device. The overall execution is bold but somewhat crude, typical of provincial Mongol coinage of the late 13th to early 14th century.
