Reverse description Fully epigraphic reverse field displaying multiple horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic legend within a plain linear inner border, framed by a marginal legend separated by a second linear border. The central field bears the Risala formula affirming the prophethood of Muhammad, followed by a secondary legend naming the Abbasid prince al-Mamun as crown heir by order of the Caliph Harun al-Rashid. The overall composition is densely lettered with tall, angular Kufic script characteristic of late 2nd-century AH Abbasid dirhams. The strike is moderately well-centred with some weakness at the periphery consistent with the irregular flan. No ornamental devices or figural elements are present.
