Obverse description Central field bears the Islamic shahada inscription in multiple lines of Kufic-style Arabic script within a beaded inner circle. The profession of faith reads in the field, surrounded by a circular marginal legend in Arabic script contained between two beaded borders. The overall layout follows the classical Abbasid dirham format, with text as the sole decorative and epigraphic element. The coin exhibits the typical irregular flan characteristic of hand-hammered medieval Islamic coinage.
