Obverse description Central field occupied by a three-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskhi script set within a plain rectangular frame, reading the royal titulature of Sultan al-Kamil Muhammad I: 'al-Malik al-Kamil / Nasir al-Dunya wa al-Din / Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr'. The rectangular central panel is bordered by a dotted inner circle and flanked by a marginal legend band running along the outer periphery of the coin. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hammered coinage of the Ayyubid period. Above and below the central panel, additional partial legends or mint/date formulae are visible. The overall design is aniconic, conforming to Islamic numismatic tradition.
