Obverse description Central field contains a three-line Arabic religious and dynastic inscription naming the ruler Al-'Adil Abu Bakr II, enclosed within concentric solid and beaded square borders. An additional marginal Arabic legend encircles the central square design within concentric solid and beaded circular borders. The overall composition is characteristic of Ayyubid hammered silver dirhams, with the geometric framing creating a layered, nested border effect typical of the period.
