| Reverse description | Irregular hammered flan with a multi-line Arabic legend in Maghrebi script occupying the full field, reading 'Amir al-Mu'minin Abu Muhammad 'Abd Allah' (Commander of the Faithful, Abu Muhammad Abd Allah), identifying the Saadian sultan Abd Allah al-Ghalib billah. The inscription is distributed across three or four lines, consistent with Saadian dirham typology. The flan edges are irregular and the relief varies across the surface, characteristic of hand-hammered coinage of this period. |
