Obverse description Eagle's head depicted in right profile, rendered in archaic Greek style with a sharp beak and boldly incised eye, occupying the majority of the small flan. Below the eagle's head, the Greek letter alpha (Α) is inscribed in the field, serving as a civic initial for Akragas. The design is deeply struck into the irregular silver flan, characteristic of the tiny fractional coinage produced at this Sicilian mint.
