Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with coarse but expressive die work. The effigy displays the characteristic thick neck and broad facial features associated with Claudian portraiture on Egyptian provincial coinage. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙ CΕΒΑC ΓΕΡΜΑ, an abbreviated form of Tiberius Claudius Caesar Sebastos Germanicus, disposed around the bust. The coin shows typical irregular flan shape and heavy green patination consistent with excavated Alexandrian bronzes of this period.
