Reverse description An eagle standing to the right upon a thunderbolt, its head turned back to the left in alert profile; the wings are folded tightly against the body and the tail feathers spread downward. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ curves around the field, divided to the left and right of the eagle, identifying the coin as struck in the name of Alexander. The composition is a compact adaptation of the larger denominational type, with crisp feather detail despite the small flan.
