Obverse description Pegasos depicted in full profile, flying left with characteristically curved wing, the mythical winged horse rendered in the archaic-to-early-classical Corinthian style. A vine branch bearing a bunch of grapes appears in the right field, serving as an iconographic symbol associated with Dionysiac imagery. The figure is executed with confident linear engraving typical of Corinthian coinage of the fifth century BC. The flan is irregular, as is standard for hammered silver of this period.
