Obverse description Two confronted horse protomes (foreparts) placed back to back, their necks arching outward toward the left and right fields respectively, with finely dotted mane crests rendered along the center where the two figures meet. Small crescent symbols appear above and below the paired horse heads, serving as subsidiary devices in the field. The design is boldly modeled in high relief within the incuse field, characteristic of the Tarentine hammered coinage tradition.
