Obverse description Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters to the right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic wavy locks of hair and the solar rays emanating from the crown of the head. The facial features are boldly modelled with a strong profile, full lips, and a prominent nose. The flan is irregular and slightly off-centre, as is typical for hammered coinage of this period. The field is unadorned, with no legend or secondary devices.

Reverse description A budding rose seen from above occupies the central field, with a small six-pointed star to the lower right serving as a secondary control symbol. A leafy tendril extends to the lower left of the rose bud. The entire design is enclosed within a border of pellets, a hallmark of Rhodian plintophoric coinage of the second century BC. The abbreviated ethnic inscription ΡΟ appears in the field, referencing the issuing city of Rhodes.
