Obverse description Forepart of a lion advancing to the left in high relief, rendered with archaic stylization; the mane is depicted with bold, radiating incised lines and the open jaws expose prominent teeth. The lion's head is shown in three-quarter profile with a pronounced brow and detailed musculature typical of Troadic archaic coinage. The design occupies a roughly square incuse field with striated borders on either side, characteristic of fifth-century BC Troadic fabric. No legend or inscription is present in the field.

Reverse description Facing gorgoneion (Medusa head) depicted en face in low relief within a shallow incuse square, surrounded by sinuous serpents whose bodies curl outward from the periphery of the face. The gorgon's features are rendered in the archaic style with wide staring eyes, a broad nose, and a gaping mouth. The serpents frame the head symmetrically, their tails coiling into volutes at the corners of the incuse. The overall composition is bold and apotropaic in character, consistent with Troadic civic coinage of the mid-fifth century BC. No inscription is present.
