| Obverse description | Tripod with lion's-paw feet and suspension rings depicted in full face, the three legs and crossbar rendered in relief against a plain field. A globular boss or pellet appears at the base of the central stem, and a circular element surmounts the crown of the tripod. The design fills the flan, characteristic of the archaic-to-early Hellenistic Krotonian coinage tradition. A retrograde epsilon (Ε) appears as a mint or denomination control mark in the field. |

| Reverse description | An owl stands facing left with wings folded and head turned to face the viewer frontally, rendered in the compact, stylised manner typical of South Italian coinages of this period. The bird's large circular eye is prominently modelled. Two koppa symbols (ϘϘ) appear to the upper left and a single koppa (Ϙ) to the right, serving as ethnic abbreviations for Kroton (ϘΡΟΤΩΝ) in archaic Greek script. The design is set within the irregular flan, with the incuse characteristics of hammered production visible. |
