Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Sancho VI in low relief, rendered in the crude Romanesque style typical of 12th-century Navarrese coinage. The king's face is depicted frontally with schematic facial features, wearing a crown with three visible points above a beaded inner circle. The bust is flanked by decorative scroll or floral ornaments in the lower field. The surrounding Latin legend reads SANCIVS REX, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border.
