Obverse description Central vertical stem surmounted by a cross pattée, flanked on either side by stylized foliate or vegetal scrollwork branches, evoking a Tree of Life motif. The horizontal legend NAVARA is inscribed across the upper field, divided by the central stem. The overall design is rendered in the bold, somewhat archaic Romanesque hammered style typical of 11th-century Iberian coinage.

Reverse description Schematic bust of the king facing left, depicted within a beaded inner circle, with a rudimentary rendering of facial features and a diadem or crown indicated by hatching. The circular legend SANCIVS REX, naming the issuing monarch Sancho the King, surrounds the beaded circle. The lettering is in the irregular, hand-cut Romanesque epigraphic style characteristic of hammered Navarrese deniers of the mid-11th century.
