| Obverse description | A sword depicted vertically in the central field, point downward, set within an inner beaded circle. The hilt is rendered with a simple crossguard and a rounded pommel at the base. A Latin legend reading COMES EMPR (Count of Empuries) runs around the periphery between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border, the lettering executed in the irregular Gothic style characteristic of medieval Catalan hammered coinage. |
