| Obverse description | A plain cross with globules in each angle occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross arms extend nearly to the inner circle, with a pellet placed in each of the four quadrants. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer border, reading +A COMES:VRGELLI, identifying the Count of Urgell. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of medieval hammered coinage. |
