Reverse description A plain cross with a small annulet or pellet in each of the four angles, centrally positioned within an inner beaded circle. The Latin legend :VGO:COMES is inscribed in the outer field between the inner beaded circle and the outer toothed border, identifying the issuer as Hugh (Hugo), Count. The workmanship is consistent with the irregular, hand-struck style typical of medieval Catalan billon deniers.
