Reverse description Central field features a rampant lion facing left, crowned, rendered in the schematic style characteristic of late 13th- to early 14th-century Castilian billon coinage. The lion is enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend reads ET LEGIONIS, completing the royal title as King of Leon. The flan is irregular and the strike shows typical weakness at the edges, consistent with hammered medieval production.
