Reverse description A passant lion facing left occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the bold, schematic style typical of hammered medieval Castilian billon coinage. The lion is depicted with a crowned head, raised forepaw, and a clearly articulated tail curving over its back. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters reads around the periphery, completing the royal title begun on the obverse. The die workmanship is characteristic of the Sevilla mint under the pretender Enrique during the late 13th to early 14th century.
