Obverse description Central device composed of a triple-towered castle rendered in Gothic style, enclosed within a beaded square frame. The castle displays three towers with crenellations, the central tower taller than the flanking ones, with a doorway visible at the base. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the beaded square, reading ENRICVS REX CA, identifying the issuer as Henry II, King of Castile. The field outside the beaded square shows partial lettering consistent with the heavily worn hammered flan. The overall style is characteristic of late 14th-century Castilian billon coinage.
