Obverse description Central device depicts a stylized royal bust facing right, surmounted by a prominent crown rendered in relief, characteristic of the cornado coinage of Alfonso XI. The effigy is executed in a simplified Gothic style typical of mid-14th-century Castilian hammered billon issues. A pellet or star mark appears to one side of the crowned bust, serving as a mint or die identifier. The surrounding field is flat and worn, consistent with heavy circulation. The peripheral Latin legend ALFONS REX encircles the central device.
