Reverse description Central field encloses a rampant lion passant to the left in typical medieval heraldic style, set within a square dotted border framed by a plain ruled line. The lion is depicted with curled mane and raised forepaw, rendered in the bold, schematic manner characteristic of Castilian hammered billon coinage of the early fourteenth century. Legends are distributed around the exterior of the central square, partially visible due to the irregular flan. Stars and annulets appear as secondary devices in the angles of the outer legend field.
