Obverse description Central field divided into four quarters by a plain cross, each quadrant filled with a stylized foliate or floral scroll motif in the Romanesque tradition. The design is rendered in a bold, low-relief hammered style characteristic of 12th-century Iberian billon coinage. The irregular flan displays a beaded border around the periphery. The inscription LEON appears within the design, referencing the Kingdom of León.
