Obverse description Central field dominated by a plain cross pattée within a beaded inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters. The surrounding legend reads + ANFVS REX in Latin characters, interrupted by a decorative stop, running clockwise between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered billon coinage of the Leonese-Castilian monetary tradition of the early twelfth century.
