Reverse description Five-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field, reading the title and name of the issuer: Lord Despot Stefan. The lettering is rendered in medieval Cyrillic characters arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's face, with decorative stops or crosses separating elements of the legend. The flat, hammered flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-struck medieval Serbian coinage of the despotate period.
