| Reverse description | Christ Pantokrator depicted nimbate and enthroned facing, rendered in the Byzantine tradition with a cruciform nimbus about the head. He is shown in frontal majesty holding an open book of Gospels in his left hand, with his right hand raised in a gesture of benediction. The throne is flanked by decorative elements typical of medieval Serbian die work, and the field bears the abbreviated Christogram legend IC XC at left and right respectively. The overall composition closely follows Byzantine iconographic conventions prevalent on contemporary Balkan coinage. |
