Obverse description Central field contains a three-line Arabic Kalima inscription within a plain inner circle, reading the Shahada. This central medallion is enclosed by a beaded inner border, surrounded by a circular Arabic marginal legend in the intermediate field. An outer decorative border composed of alternating geometric ornaments and a fine beaded rim frames the entire design. The calligraphy is executed in a bold, early Kufic style characteristic of Samanid gold coinage. Small pellet stops punctuate the field above and below the central inscription.

Reverse description Central field displays a five-line Arabic inscription in bold Kufic script, identifying the Abbasid caliph and the Samanid amir Nuh ibn Nasr, arranged within a plain inner circle. A small decorative finial or floral device appears above the central text block. The intermediate zone carries a circular Arabic marginal legend, separated from the central medallion by a beaded border. The outer rim is defined by a further marginal inscription band and a finely executed beaded border, consistent with standard Samanid dinar typology. The overall design reflects the epigraphic tradition of eastern Islamic coinage of the mid-10th century.
