Obverse description Full-length effigy of Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović standing facing, bare-headed, depicted in robes with linear drapery rendered in the Byzantine tradition. The prince holds in his left hand a long cross-tipped scepter, a symbol of his quasi-royal authority. The figure is rendered in a frontal, hieratic style typical of late medieval Serbian coinage. The Latin uncial legend surrounds the central figure within the irregular flan.
