Obverse description King Kidara I depicted standing facing left in Kushano-Sassanian style, wearing an elaborate crested helmet with ribbons and a belted tunic with trousers; the figure holds attributes consistent with royal iconography. A tamgha symbol occupies the left field and a nandipada device is placed in the right field. The design is executed within a beaded border characteristic of late Kushan gold coinage, with the entire composition rendered in the bold, stylized relief typical of hammered Kidarite dinars.
