Obverse description Facing draped bust of Khusro I, diademed and wearing an elaborate Sasanian mural crown surmounted by a crescent and globe finial. The king's effigy is rendered in high relief with stylized facial features characteristic of late Sasanian die work. Two attendant busts flank the royal portrait in the lower field, likely representing courtiers or divine figures. An Inscriptional Pahlavi legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, invoking the royal titulature of the king.
