| Obverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged within a dotted inner circle, comprising the shahada and related pious formulae. The legend is executed in a characteristic Maghribi calligraphic style typical of Alaouite hammered gold coinage. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the periphery within a beaded border. The overall strike is characteristic of hand-hammered technique, resulting in a slightly irregular flan with variable depth of relief across the die area. |

| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription identifying the mint and the ruling sultan Moulay Ismail Ibn Sharif, arranged within a dotted inner circle in Maghribi calligraphic style. The reverse legend includes the mint name Hazrat Miknas (Meknes) and the regnal formula. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central device within a beaded border. The flan is irregular in shape and thickness, consistent with the hammered production technique employed at the Meknes mint during the Alaouite sultanate. |
