Obverse description Nimbate king standing in profile to the left, wearing an elaborate crown, holding a bow in the right hand and an arrow in the left. A Garuda standard appears to the left of the figure. Encircling legends in Brahmi script surround the central image, identifying the ruler. The design is executed in the characteristic high-relief hammered style of Gupta imperial coinage.

Reverse description The goddess Lakshmi seated in Lalitasana pose upon a lotus throne, depicted in the classical Gupta artistic tradition. She holds a cowrie shell in one hand and a lotus flower in the other. A stylized peacock appears to the left, and a regnal symbol occupies the left field. A dotted border frames the entire reverse composition. A Brahmi legend in the field reads 'Sri Vikramah', the royal epithet of Chandragupta II.
