Obverse description Two tamghas stamped onto the field of the coin: the larger tamgha of Noghai occupying the upper portion of the flan, with the smaller tamgha of Toqtu impressed weakly beneath it. The punched devices are applied over the underlying Venetian grosso type design, which remains partially visible in the flan. The irregular flan and crude striking are characteristic of this Noghai-period Bulgarian coinage.
