| Reverse description | Central field bearing four to five horizontal lines of Arabic legend in a bold, angular hand, containing the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and the name and titles of the ruling Ilkhan Arghun, along with the mint name and date where struck. The legends are arranged concentrically within a double circular border, the inner border being a plain line and the outer border formed by a continuous interlace or chain ornament, consistent with Ilkhanid dinar typology of the period. The field is flat and the relief is sharply struck, characteristic of high-quality hammered gold coinage. |
