Obverse description Hammered gold dinar of typical Abbasid typology, with an aniconic design composed entirely of Arabic Kufic script. The central field contains a multi-line religious legend arranged in horizontal registers within a beaded inner circle. The Shahada and the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Qa'im bi-Amr Allah are inscribed in the central area. A marginal legend running along the outer ring records the mint formula and the date of issue, separated from the inner field by a beaded border. The flan is slightly irregular, as characteristic of hammered Islamic gold coinage of the period.
