Reverse description Printed in shades of brown and olive, the reverse centres on a landscape vignette of the Great Mosque of Samarra with its iconic spiral minaret (Malwiya), rendered in fine intaglio engraving. Decorative guilloche panels flank the central vignette on both sides, with the English inscription CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ across the top and the denomination ½ DINAR repeated at upper left and upper right. The printer's imprint of Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. appears along the bottom margin. This example is overprinted SPECIMEN in red on both sides.
