| Obverse description | Facing head of Helios, the sun god, rendered in three-quarter view slightly turned to the right, surrounded by a radiate crown of pointed solar rays emanating from the hair. The hair falls in loose, wavy locks framing the face, and the modelling of the features is executed in a fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic detail. The face fills the flan with no legend or border, characteristic of Rhodian coinage of this period. |
