| Obverse description | Standing frontal figure of Artemis, draped in a long chiton, raising her right arm toward a stag that approaches her from the right and appears to nuzzle her hand; to her left, a tall column decorated with a beaded vertical motif surmounted by a bird (likely a dove or heron) perched atop. The goddess is flanked on both sides by olive branches framing the field, and a crescent is visible above her head. The composition is archaic-influenced in its rigid frontality yet displays fluid Hellenistic rendering in the surrounding decorative elements. |
