Obverse description Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters to the right, rendered in high relief with characteristic flowing, wind-swept hair radiating from the crown of the head in all directions. The god's facial features are finely modeled in the classical tradition, with a serene expression, well-defined brow, and slightly parted lips. The surface of the flan is plain, with no legend or additional devices, the head filling the field. This iconic Rhodian type reflects the island's devotion to Helios as its patron deity.
